Obscenity Study No. 3
Digitally manipulated photograph
Date: 1997

In February 1995, Haim Miller, deputy mayor of Jerusalem and head of an organization called the Association for the Rights of the Haredi (Ultra Orthodox Jewish) Community objected to a number of photographs on display at the YAD VASHEM Holocaust Museum. Miller objected to the fact that the photographs show Jews naked and ordered YAD VASHEM to remove them. This piece was commissioned by the Journal 'Art Papers' and is the third in a series of images that attempt to raise questions about the nature of obscenity.
